Địa đạo Củ Chi
Củ Chi Tunnels is a vast network of underground tunnels located in the Củ Chi district of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. These tunnels played a crucial role during the Vietnam War, serving as a hiding place, living quarters, supply routes, and communication channels for Viet Cong soldiers.
The tunnel system stretches over 250 kilometers and is made up of several layers, some as deep as 10 meters below ground. It included living spaces, kitchens, hospitals, storage facilities, and command centers, allowing Viet Cong forces to operate stealthily, evade air raids, and launch surprise attacks. The tunnels were cleverly engineered with trapdoors, booby traps, and multiple entrances, making them extremely difficult for enemy forces to infiltrate.
Today, the Củ Chi Tunnels are a popular historical site, offering visitors a glimpse into the resilience and ingenuity of the Vietnamese people during wartime. Visitors can explore parts of the tunnels, see various exhibits, and learn about the challenges and strategies of the Viet Cong during the conflict.
