Pick up in the morning by private car with English Speaking licensed Guide/Driver at your hotel or HSR Station in Taichung.
First stop will be the Taichung Literature Museum: the Taichung Literature Museum used to be police quarters, which were built in 1932 during the Japanese colonial period. It consists of six buildings, which are used for permanent exhibitions, themed exhibitions, children’s literature, workshops and lectures, themed dining area, and administration.
The Taichung second market, built in 1917 is divided in 6 sections each of the section was dedicated to a category. It’s hexagonal design make it very special ( and easy to get lost! ) in alternative visit the Taichung Prefectural Hall – built in European style – served as Taichung City Hall for decades.
Visit to Miyahara, a red-brick architecture built by Miyahara Takeo, a Japanese ophthalmology doctor in 1927. It was the largest ophthalmology clinic in Taichung during the Japanese colonial period. Today is an elegant place with several pastry businesses, wonderfully restored the building is a place full of history and wonder.
Stop at the Original Bubble tea Tea house for a tea taste ( or DIY Bubble tea class if available ) and lunch ( not included ).
Before heading to Gaomei you will visit the Tunghai university campus – the first private and the second oldest university in Taiwan – and the famous Luce Chapel or the Rainbow Village a “one man show” painted by a very talented, and rather visionary, old veteran soldier, MR. Huang.
You will then take the road to Gaomei Wetlands, a perfect place to enjoy the sunset and the cool breeze from the sea. Covering an area of 1,733 acres (701.3 hectares), Gaomei Wetland is a mix of mud and sand. It is a famous habitat for a diverse number of birds, fish, crabs, invertebrates, and plants. You will have some free time to explore the area and discover the ecosystem and the little inhabitants of this land: the fiddler crabs. They are really unusual as they have an extremely large claw. After the sunset “show” you will return to Taichung for dinner ( not included ) or back to your hotel.

Tour will end with the Taichung National Theater, visit the theater and the futuristic roof. The theater is designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito. Using the concept of the primitive caves and holes, Toyo Ito designed the world’s first and only Sound Cave Curved Wall for the National Taichung Theater. There are no vertical and horizontal structures and it’s the world’s first curve surfaced hanging structure architect.
